INFERNUM OBSCURA

Deep within the walls of the abandoned Malcolm Abigor Academy lies a century of secrets waiting to be uncovered. In the story of Infernum Obscura, we follow the toxic relationship between macabre photographer Andrew Wyke, his muse Cassandra, and the decaying building with a lurid past. Andrew and Cassandra reunite in an attempt to revive their fame in the Gothic Arts. However, their reunion awakens the secrets of the Academy and uncovers the truth about their past and the destiny of their future.

Andrew Wyke, a notorious photographer and artist specializing in capturing horror's most famous locations, sets his sights on Malcolm Abigor Academy to capture a new and hopefully lucrative experience. But the building has a dark history and may have other plans for Andrew and his team as they navigate its decaying rooms and dark hallways in search of the perfect backdrop for their greatest photo.

I am a fan of haunted house movies- The Shining, The Legend of Hell House, The Changeling, and The Amityville Horror. Along with films about unexplained supernatural phenomena within buildings and their effect on human psychology, I grew up in love with the films of Dan Curtis. One of the films that really affected me was 1976’s Burnt Offerings.

The creation of Infernum Obscura comes from that love of the residual evil trapped within the buildings where traumatic and horrible events have occurred. Andrew and Cassandra have spent their souls’ existence entrapped in the evils that are unveiled in this film.

Winner of the following film awards:

Best Horror Short Film - 2023 International Horror Hotel Film Festival

Best Actress, Danielle Lang - 2023 International Horror Hotel Film Festival

Review:

“For fans of Dark Shadows, and movies such as The Changeling and Burnt Offerings, you'll see Roddy's tip of the hat to tales of evil with lasting damage. And you'll have more than a few moments of the creeps.”
