DR. STRANGE:
JOURNEY INTO THE MYSTIC ARTS
As a famed surgeon, Doctor Stephen Strange was no stranger to public speaking or reveling in the applause of an audience to praise him for his feats. Still, now that he has moved beyond the need for fame and glory, he has moved on to a more significant role in the universe…one of its protectors. Through his training as a Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange has found the best defense against rivals from other dimensions is to educate those on Earth about their existence.
To do this, Doctor Strange has created a presentation of the Mystic Arts for those willing to open their minds and accept that we are not alone but merely one of many worlds.
He begins with a few spells and techniques to show the existence of these Arts. These spells will incorporate custom tricks and illusions to show off the Mystic Arts, for example, teleportation, levitation, and creating shields. As he does this, he talks about the training he received from the Ancient One and a few adventures he has gone on using these techniques.
To prove these aren’t parlor tricks or gaggy illusions, Doctor Strange invites a few guests ranging in age to join him. He tests them to see if they are in their reality and accept the others willing to quest. If they are open, they begin to cast spells as well. If they are not, then they may not be ready to learn. (A shill from the audience is chosen for later stunts and tricks.)
Then, Doctor Strange teaches them several spells, such as Crimson Bands of Cytorrak and the Seven Rings of Raggadorr. For each spell they cast, a practical effect takes place in the theater. For instance, the lights flicker, thunder and lightning strike, the fog starts flowing from the stage, and sourced sound effects surround Guests.
As the guests start to master the spells, another power suddenly takes over the room. Dormammu, lord of the Dark Dimension, appears via the screen. He threatens to claim all of their powers and take over Earth.
Doctor Strange reminds him that they had a bargain, and he was to leave their dimension alone. Dormammu is aware of the deal and suggests that the bargain is only with him and not his Mindless Ones. Suddenly, several of Dormammu’s servants appear on the stage via teleportation. Doctor Strange leads the guests to attack the Servants using the spells they learned, defending everyone from harm.
Several stunts and effects create an epic ending to the battle for our dimension. The Mindless Ones are defeated, and through projections, smoke, lighting, and sound, Dormammu is also banished from Earth’s realm.
Doctor Strange is impressed by the guests’ abilities to hold their own against the Dark Dimension and gives them each the talisman of the Vishanti to encourage them to continue their training.
